The MC Library is pleased to announce a new partnership with Driving-Tests.org, one of the nation's top sites for driver's license practice tests. The new service includes free tests, specifically written based on the state DMV materials and is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that allow users to hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask sections of the screen for greater visibility on driving practice tests. It will also work as an outreach for teens, those with disabilities,  seniors that need to take a renewal exam, and patrons at every other stage of life.
Simply log on to marion.driving-tests.org. For more information, call us at (870) 449-6015.

Box Tops
for Education

Friends of the Library are now collecting Box Tops for Education, and Best Choice UPC barcodes. We have a collection box for them here at the Library, and the Transfer station is saving for us too. All that are collected will be evenly divided amongst the 3 schools here in the county: Bruno-Pyatt, Flippin and Yellville.
Social Security Express
The Marion County Library is pleased to announce that they are now participating in the Social Security Desktop Icon Project. The library's computers for public use now have the Social Security Express "Quick Service" icon on the opening screen. A simple click on the icon connects you to the Social Security Administration's public website, allowing you to conduct business or obtain forms. After setting up your "my Social Security" account, you will be able to get Social Security statements, change an address, change or start direct deposit, print a benefit verification letter, create an account/enter an activation code, estimate retirement benefits, request a replacement Medicare Card, or get a 1099/1042 tax form. Social Security Express Desktop Icons adhere to the Social Security Administration's Privacy Policy. Social Security Express Desktop Icons use Google Analytics to gather information to better understand which electronic service (eServices) options are most useful to our patrons, and helps to gauge the need for future eService initiatives. All eServices available through the Social Security Express Desktop Icon Project are available in English, with many now available in Spanish as well. For more information, please call the Marion County Library at (870) 449-6015.
